Eastside Suites
The student housing, 5-story building consists of suite style dorms, study lounges, TV lounges, distributed laundry facilities, a convenience store and a community pavilion. The suite style dorms include sleeping rooms, a living area, a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. Gaming areas, a lounge, and a meeting area can be found in the community pavilion.
SES provided electrical engineering for this design-build project including total building lighting energy designed at a higher standard than LEED Design Standards require. Lighting strategies include high energy efficient T8 and T5 interior lighting. Both interior and exterior lighting were designed to meet light pollution requirements, lighting energy consumption, and lighting controls efficiency beyond that required by LEED Design Standards. Lighting controls include auto-occupancy sensor controls provided for all non-24-hour spaces to prevent wasted consumption of the lighting.
