UCHealth Memorial
North Tower Expansion

This project consists of a new 6-story, 180-bed tower that will double the size of Memorial Hospital North. The 330,000 SF project will include expanded support and ancillary services and various renovations throughout the hospital. The expansion includes 4 new OR’s, a 24-bed Emergency Department, an imaging area, a 6-story garage with room for expansion, and a helipad.

SES is partnered with Perkins & Will to deliver full-service, comprehensive design services. Our engineering scope includes Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Low Voltage Systems and Medical Equipment. To support the hospital expansion and remodeling, significant upgrades to the MEP infrastructure and Central Utility Plant (CUP) are needed. Due to redundancy needs and the planned location of the new tower, the main distribution from the CUP to the hospital will undergo relocation.

The existing CUP currently serves both UCHealth Memorial Hospital North and Children’s Hospital Colorado along with (4) medical office buildings. SES is designing phased CUP expansion options and timelines to address the needs of both facilities. SES is also helping to meet project sustainability goals including an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of 120 or lower, an Energy Star rating of 80 or higher, LEED Silver equivalency, and adherence to WELL Building Standard best practices. Currently this $400M project will be completed in multiple phases.
