Bryan Health Merrick Medical Center

SES served as the MEP Engineer for this critical access replacement hospital. The new Merrick Medical Center was designed to provide fully integrated health and wellness, create a healthy environment for enhanced patient care and staff efficiency and accommodate a sustainable facility. Features include larger operating rooms, expanded patient rooms for advanced technology and equipment and wider doors and access points to accommodate those with disabilities.

The systems needed to be robust, simple, and easily maintained while meeting the energy requirements of the project. Due to the location of the new facility and maintenance personnel serving in a variety of roles, system selection was an important part of the project. SES coordinated with both local and Lincoln-based Bryan Health personnel.

With multiple levels of acuity and the need to support pandemic operations, flexibility of the 51,000 SF space was imperative. This project was designed during the COVID pandemic which allowed our team to integrate real-time industry solutions into the design.

One of these integrated solutions included an additional design to the ambulance garage allowing for drive-thru COVID testing for the community.
