Project Description

The Orthopedic and Specialty Hospital plus Sports Performance Insitute is a new medical facility specializing in orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation. The Rapid City Regional Health expansion project was built on 10 acres at the Buffalo Crossing development, located at the southeast corner of Catron Boulevard and Highway 16, in Rapid City, SD. The facility houses physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other specialists dedicated to providing expert care for orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues and sports-related injuries. The project includes a performance and athletic enhancement center, with services ranging from improving one’s ability to enjoy everyday activities, to training elite athletes seeking to enhance their performance.

Our Healthcare Team provided a full complement of Healthcare Engineering design services throughout the free-standing center to provide a patient environment that supports Diagnostic, Therapeutic, Surgical and Inpatient Care along with Support Services. We worked closely with our Architectural Partner and Regional West to achieve a Sports Performance, Fitness and Orthopedic Care Environment unlike any in the Region.  Now open it provides the area with; sports performance and fitness, a pain clinic, massage, weight management, wound care, pharmacy, PT/OT services, inpatient care and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and orthopedic surgical services.
