Specialized Engineering Solutions’ Director of Commissioning Kenny Reed, CxAP, CEM, LEED BD+C, along with Robert Austin, Associate Vice President of Dewberry, will share their experiences and insights into how a Commissioning Provider (CxP) scopes and investigates existing buildings to ultimately identify facility improvement measures. They will present at the Building Commissioning Association’s BCxA Conference, October 15-17 in Nashville, Tenn.
The Building Commissioning Association (BCxA) Conference connects people who have the drive and expertise to lead the Cx profession in achieving the highest levels of building performance and a sustainable future. Reed serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Chapter. He also serves on BCxA’s Professional Development and Education Committee.
Reed and Austin’s education session, “Scoping and Investigating Existing Buildings,” will take an in-depth look at how a CxP determines if Current Facility Requirements are being met. The pair will also discuss a multi-faceted, iterative approach that requires actual measurements, testing, observations and desktop analyses. They will discuss how this work helps to accurately assess system performance and provide conclusive information to isolate issues and identify improvement opportunities.
